about
Reading this blog will probably give you a better impression of who I am than this article, so geht-on-up-ouwtta-heeur (as is said in the state of my birth)!
Ok, fine, don’t take my advice…
Contrary to my Southern Belle heritage, I’m probably one of the geekiest people I know with the possible exception of my husband. I am the ideal wife for a geek in that I actually get excited when my husband says “hey, can we go to Fry’s and get a new terrabyte NAS today?”
I have been a developer for 14+ years, with a slight detour into technical training and back out again. I’m a “UI nerd” and am constantly absorbing new information about web standards and design. My passion is creating beautiful, elegant web interfaces both on the graphics and coding sides though I’ve done plenty of web forms, mobile dev and even some work with the Microsoft Surface SDK. Most of my experience has been with Microsoft technologies and my favorite language is C#, but I’ve dabbled in Ruby on Rails and even tinkered with PHP. My latest obsession is object oriented Javascript focused mainly around jQuery.
Besides my ever-present fascination with technology and the internet, I rotate through several other interests in phases of obsession including photography, photoshop design work, and web and software projects. I’m also a digital packrat and keep a gigantic collection of urls at Del.icio.us as well as copious digital notes in my favorite wiki variation. In my time away from the keyboard I train in Aikido, and have many “right-brained” hobbies such as beadwork, temari, kumihimo, decorating and general crafts. Because of my line of work and strange combination of interests, I have yet to find many other women who I have a lot in common with, but I guess that’s also what makes me somewhat unique.
So now you know, and “knowing is half the battle”.

My apologies for denying your friendship request.
It was one of those mad clicking moments and hitting all the wrong spots.
Please send another invite as I’m always interested in hearing from other zonie techies.
Cheers!

My husband and I are a bit like you and your spouse. We both love woodworking and power tools. I had a project to do at our church and the tools I had just weren’t working. So, off to the store we go. On the way home, I called the lady who asked me to do the project to thank her for asking me to do the project. There was a long pause as she was trying to figure out where I was going with this. She got a good laugh when I told her that I just got a new chop saw!!!

Hello,
I ran across your beautiful photo “India Silk” and would like to ask if I could produce one print? I’m an Interior Designer and would like to use it in the reception area of an Indian Company.
Thanking you in advance!

Lindsay I love your site, it is great. I loved this blog post especially because it gives a little insight into who you are personally. You seem like a very nice person with a good head on your shoulders. It is awesome that you have that kind of relationship with your husband where you can share interests and perform hobbies and activities together. It will help keep your marriage happy and long lasting. Keep up the good work.

I enjoyed reading your blog post. All too often it is the guy who is the geek and the wife hasn’t a clue what he is talking about so i think it is really refreshing that you both share the same interests. I too spend a lot of time at the keyboard and am one of those people who like to be busy. Even of I am trying to relax by watching the TV I am also flipping through a magazine or mentally thinking about what I have to do tomorrow.
